Punta al Top 2! Diebuster (トップをねらえ 2! Toppu o Nerae 2!?) è un OAV in 6 episodi realizzata nel 2004 dallo studio Gainax. Realizzato per festeggiare i 20 anni dello studio d'animazione, è il seguito della serie del 1988 Punta al Top! GunBuster, ed è infatti ufficiosamente noto anche col nome di Gunbuster 2.
Dopo essersi espansa per l'universo l'umanità si è ritirata all'interno del sistema solare a seguito di una serie di attacchi subiti da quelli che vengono definiti mostri spaziali. Le uniche armi in grado di fronteggiarli sono le Buster Machine, grandi robot dalle sembianze umanoidi pilotati da ragazzi chiamati Topless. Questi piloti hanno il dono di poter comunicare con le Buster Machine, ma lo conserveranno solo per poco e durante la loro crescita, lo perderanno. Nono è una ragazza solare, piena di vita e molto determinata a realizzare il suo sogno: diventare un pilota di navi spaziali. Desiderebbe avere una Buster Machine tutta sua e il suo progetto inizia a realizzarsi quando incontra per caso Lal'c, la miglior Topless in attività. Nono la sorprenderà ed entrerà a far parte della sua squadra, anche se non sembra possedere i poteri necessari a pilotare una Buster Machine. Basterà questo a fermarla?
