Mentre la Seconda guerra mondiale è nelle sue fasi conclusive, in un albergo decadente dove aleggia un'atmosfera tetra, la giovane figlia della proprietaria (Leonora Fani), il cui padre è al fronte, perde la madre in un incidente poco chiaro. Rimasta sola la ragazza viene sottoposta da pressanti attenzioni da parte di loschi figuri che le si aggirano intorno. Un tortura psicologica che ben presto si aggraverà a dismisura.
