Alberto, milanese doc, viene trasferito a San Marco di Castellabate, un paesino in provincia di Salerno. Dopo il trauma iniziale dovuto alla difficoltà di ambientarsi in una dimensione completamente differente da quella di origine, il protagonista scopre la bellezza architettonica, la gastronomia e il calore contagioso del sud che, anche grazie ai colleghi autoctoni Mattia e Maria, lo porterà a liberarsi dei tanti pregiudizi nordisti. E così, insieme alla moglie Silvia, Alberto imparerà a godersi la vita con libertà.
