Una serie di misteriose morti si verificano a New York. Alcuni cadaveri vengono ritrovati mutilati mentre altri presentano una misteriosa equazione incisa sulla pelle. Non appena il detective Argo e la nuova collega Helen scoprono il significato dell'equazione, realizzano che ogni vittima si è ritrovata di fronte a una difficile scelta: uccidere qualcuno a cui si vuol bene o morire.
