Otto sconosciuti (quattro uomini e quattro donne) si risvegliano in un labirinto senza sapere come, quando o perché sono rimasti imprigionati in questa costruzione quadridimensionale (l'hypercube). Per sopravvivere, devono muoversi attraverso una serie infinita di stanze collegate tra loro, anticipando e prevedendo i fenomeni che improvvisamente possono prodursi e disintegrare chiunque rimanga intrappolato.
