Frank, un giovanotto senza fissa dimora, viene assunto come garzone nel bar di Nick e ben presto finisce per innamorarsi di Cora, la moglie del padrone. I due diventano amanti e Cora convince Frank a uccidere Nick. Dopo il delitto però i due non si fidano più l'una dell'altro. Arrestati, vengono rilasciati entrambi. Per loro tutto sembra finalmente poter ricominciare da zero, ma Cora muore in un incidente d'auto.
