Sostenuti da fanatici che seguono ciecamente la loro causa, giusta o sbagliata che sia, questi nuovi personaggi sono una pericolosa minaccia per entrambe le fazioni del conflitto crociato. La nuova espansione di Stronghold Crusader 2, L'Imperatore e l'Eremita aggiunge sette missioni, due nuovi nemici IA, achievements, scudi aggiuntivi per i giocatori e dei nuovi design dei castelli che caratterizzano l'Imperatore e l'Eremita.
